We are excited to be welcoming Dr. Laurel Wood to our practice starting June 2025!
Dr. Wood grew up in Edina, Minnesota. She graduated with honors from the University of Colorado-Boulder with a degree in physiology. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Wood spent time working in a hospital in Malawi, a formative experience that continues to shape her passion for global health.
Dr. Wood completed her pediatric residency at the University of Chicago, where she had the opportunity to care for children and families from all walks of life. She firmly believes in providing compassionate and equitable care to every patient, regardless of race, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
After completing her residency, she worked at a Chicago suburban pediatric practice and enjoyed teaching medical students from Northwestern University. Now back in Colorado, Dr. Wood is thrilled to be practicing in the state she calls home with her family, community, and the mountains.
Dr. Wood feels the best part of her job is building relationships with families over time. She considers it an honor to be a part of a child's life as they grow and overcome life's many challenges! Dr. Wood has special clinical interests in ADHD, anxiety, and functional gastrointestinal disorders.
When she’s not at the office, you’ll likely find Dr. Wood snowboarding, skiing, hiking, biking, or enjoying a good meal with her family and friends—her biggest sources of joy. She has been an avid snowboarder since the age of 10 and appreciates every opportunity to stay active!
Dr. Wood will be seeing patients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
